Song of Atlanta was pleased to host our official Sweet Adelines International Global Open House from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 22, 2013. We hope to host another next year.
We are comprised of women of all ages and backgrounds who celebrate, perform and enjoy the American art form known as barbershop music.
SOA, as we are known, extends an open invitation to women who love to sing, and those who would just like to find out more about the organization and its performance opportunities.
Currently ranked with an international standing of 5th Place, the Song Of Atlanta Show Chorus is a past 1st Place champion of the "Heart of Dixie Region," including Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and parts of Florida and Tennessee.
As a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, SOA integrates the rich and resonant barbershop sound with costumes, choreography, and high energy performances to reflect the unique and dynamic energy that is characteristic of their namesake hometown. With a membership base of close to 25,000 women worldwide who sing four-part "barbershop style" a cappella harmony, the non-profit organization welcomes women with average or above average singing ability, with or without vocal training, and provides ongoing opportunities for music education as well as leadership development.
SOA's esteemed director Becki Hine has achieved the parent organization's top Master 700" status and has led the chorus in fourteen regional championships as well as multiple international competitions, in which the group achieved four international top ten medals. In high demand as a "Certified Showmanship Judge" for Sweet Adelines International, Becki has also directed and produced five Song of Atlanta CD recordings and enjoys traveling around the world to share her enthusiasm and passion for barbershop performance and vocal excellence. She is dedicated to the mission of Sweet Adelines International and consistently serves as director, coach, judge, and clinician at regional, national and international competitions and festivals.
In the Atlanta metro area, SOA presents frequent public concerts, often highlight
ing their high-profile barbershop groups, and can be seen and heard at special events sponsored by major corporations, civic and charitable organizations, private groups and churches. Community events where the group was featured include an Atlanta Braves Game at Turner Field, the Great Clips 300 NASCAR Race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway (carried live on ESPN), and Newnan's Centre for the Performing & Visual Arts.

Whether performing on stage, singing barbershop "tags" at rehearsals, or welcoming new friends, SOA members bring to life the Sweet Adeline International slogan: "Real Women…..Real Harmony….Real Fun."
